Shawna Ricci B.A., CCMT, CFTBS, ABCDT
Shawna has a background in Psychology, earning her B.A. from West Chester University and going on to work with adults & children with mental illness, traumatic brain injuries, and autism. After obtaining her dog obedience certification from Animal Behavior College, Shawna traveled the country to study with dog trainers and behaviorists to delve deeper into the world of dog psychology. A Reiki Master-Practitioner (Usui System of Natural Healing), Shawna’s energy healing complements her work as a Certified Canine Massage Therapist (Equissage). Her experience with her personal "cat pack" as well as her volunteer work with Stray Cat Blues, have supported her studies with Animal Behavior Institute, where she obtained her certification as a Feline Training & Behavior Specialist. She has experience assisting owners during end-of-life care and euthanasias for dogs/cats, and has taken several courses in the Animal Loss & Grief Support Professional Program of Study with Teresa Wagner (www.animalsinhourhearts.com). She is the co-author of The Betty Dog Series, a trilogy of children's books that promotes kindness, empathy, & compassion through the eyes of a special needs dog. Barbara Ricci BSEd
Barbara earned her B.S.Sec.Ed degree in Secondary Education from West Chester University. She taught high school English and journalism, and English as a Second Language to Vietnamese families from her church’s parish, to improve their assimilation into our country. Barbara also pursued energy healing and is a Reiki Master-Practitioner, which she combines with her skills in IET (integrated energy therapy) for both pets and people. She continues to influence the lives of others via her work as support staff for ICU nursing at a Philadelphia suburban hospital. Barbara’s love for her three grandchildren inspire her to use her gift of communication to bring light and love to children, as they discover their inner guidance and “the power of good.” She is the co-author of The Betty Dog Series, a trilogy of children's books that promotes kindness, empathy, & compassion through the eyes of a special needs dog.
